Genetec receives a new CSPN certification integrating SSCP

by SPAC Alliance | July 2025 | Members News, News, SSCP

Genetec has obtained CSPN certification for its Genetec Security Center Synergis access control solution and the Synergis Cloud Link intelligent IoT gateway. This certification demonstrates Genetec’s full commitment both in Europe and within SPAC Alliance: it includes our SSCP v2 communication protocol along with a brand-new module co-developed with one of our other members, STid.

European and international recognition

The french CSPN (First Level Security Certification) from ANSSI is a recognized benchmark in cybersecurity and physical access protection against all types of attacks, including hybrid ones (transparent architecture, advanced end-to-end encryption). For users, this solution simplifies regulatory compliance (NIS 2 and REC Directives) while aligning with past regulations (GDPR) and those currently being rolled out (Cyber Resilience Act).

The areas outlined in red represent the scope of the evaluation (Access Control Management – ACM/GAC – and Local Processing Unit – LPU/UTL)

SSCP: Secure, Sovereign, and more

The SSCP communication protocol, open and non-proprietary, is included in the scope of the evaluation. When combined with transparent mode readers, SSCP provides all the security guarantees without compromising on functionality.

As a reminder, transparent mode requires that the reader, located on the unsecured side of the secure zone, does not participate in the cryptographic protocol. The mandatory authentication required when using the SSCP protocol, its commands dedicated to transparent mode, and its sovereign nature make it the ideal tool to meet the requirements of CSPN certification.

Bi-directional, the SSCP protocol adapts to various needs and enables dynamic management via the Synergis Cloud Link, allowing the security level to be adjusted based on context (e.g., remote activation of the PIN code depending on the security situation).

Thus, Genetec adds a new certified solution including SSCP alongside those from TIL Technologies and Synchronic.

SPAC Alliance is a Team!

The main strength of SPAC Alliance lies in the collaboration between its members. For example, Genetec partnered with STid to develop a secure input/output module (I/O Panel) dedicated to Synergis Cloud Link, and presented readers from the Architect range (ARC-A, ARC-B, and ARC-1) during the CSPN evaluation.

Many other innovations and collaborations of this kind are ongoing within SPAC Alliance — not only to pursue certifications, but also to help shape regulatory and standards frameworks (such as the HESTIA working group, which authored and edited standard no. 16 requested under the Cyber Resilience Act).
