SSCP CERTIFICATION

The functional SSCP compliance certifications have two main objectives:

  • Ensure the trust of manufacturers, integrators, specifiers, and end users who integrate and operate the SSCP communication standard.
  • Ensure the interoperability of devices (Access control readers, UHF readers, UTLs, etc.).

Recognized by major agencies like ANSSI, the SSCP standard contributes to obtaining stringent certifications such as CSPN for manufacturers.

SSCP, integrated within security targets for access control, is thus a key success factor for any manufacturer seeking to obtain the Security Visa and ANSSI qualification. This is even more relevant if the devices (readers and/or UTLs) integrated into the security target have previously obtained SSCP functional compliance certification issued by SPAC Alliance.

SSCP certifications are based on certification schemes and test plans developed by SPAC Alliance members within a dedicated working group. Three levels of evaluation are offered: Basic, Substantial, and High.

BASIC LEVEL

This evaluation level relies on unit tests dedicated to assessing the security of the SSCP protocol supported by SPAC Alliance:

 

  • authentication command tests
  • encryption tests
  • signature tests

SUBSTANTIAL LEVEL

This evaluation level builds on the elements of the Basic level and adds:

 

  • tests for commands related to the “Transparent” communication mode
  • ltests for optional functional commands related to modules

HIGH LEVEL

This evaluation level adds specific test scenarios for the production firmware of the evaluated device. These test scenarios are based on:

 

  • UTL: functional documents provided by the developer (flow diagrams, command tables, etc.)
  • Readers: verification of support and functionality of all commands associated with functional modules reported by the GetDeviceCapabilities command.

These SSCP certifications are issued by SPAC Alliance following a complete evaluation of the product(s), conducted by Cabinet Louis Reynaud, an independent testing laboratory accredited by SPAC Alliance and ANSSI (PIVD)..
