Sectech Sweden 2025 highlights

by SPAC Alliance | October 2025 | News

Back from Sectech Sweden, which took place on October 13 and 14 in Stockholm!
Lots of great exchanges, a growing interest in SPAC Alliance’s vision and achievements, especially around CRA Standard 16, and unwavering commitment from all our members throughout the event — Let’s go!

The VIP welcome from our members’ Nordic teams

No fewer than seven of our members had a booth at this Swedish edition of Sectech. They were always available to discuss security approaches specific to Scandinavia and the implementation of the European regulatory framework, including the NIS 2 and CER directives as well as the Cyber Resilience Act.
.

These two days went by in a flash! Between meetings with our members’ contacts and partners eager to learn more about SPAC Alliance, and discussions on regulatory topics as precise as they were relevant, we also hosted two conferences in the Open Forum.

Designing NIS 2 / CRA-Compliant Access Control Systems

That was the title of our conference, a broad yet widely discussed topic across Europe. After a reminder of how threats have evolved and how an appropriate regulatory framework has been established, we explored the path toward European compliance. It was an opportunity to clarify terminology and shed light on the main mechanisms of security. Key takeaway:

NIS 2 Compliant ACS

NIS 2 compliance applies to entities, not solutions. An access control system helps meet certain objectives required by NIS 2 and must continue to evolve over time. In the end, it is the responsibility of the entities to carefully choose their ACS. We advise aiming for scalability and durability, as threats and requirements will continue to evolve and adapt.

CRA Compliant ACS

Similarly, CRA compliance applies to products that will need to comply with the standards currently being developed in order to be sold on the European market (CE marking). Using non-compliant products (even as part of a composite one) will incur responsibility for the manufacturer, the integrator, or even the importer.

Certified Solutions to Rule Them All

Finally, linking access control systems and compliance leads to solution certification through fixed-time certifications, as implemented in Germany and France, or through on-site certifications to ensure proper deployment.

Certifications are expected to become widespread across Europe, bringing greater transparency, clarity, and consistency — all essential elements for ensuring our digital sovereignty.

Säkerhetsbanketten

A very long word for a beautiful night! The banquet hosted the Detektor Award ceremony, with several of our members (spoiler: or future members) among the nominees.

It was a moment to celebrate innovation and share time together outside the trade show. It was a real pleasure to have open conversations and discuss all the exciting things ahead.

Our fully committed Deniz will confirm — we have only one word!

Congratulations to the 2025 award winners!

What to Take Away from Sectech Sweden 2025?

A consistent European approach to security must embrace every perspective.

Security was partly born in the Nordics, with several key market players and a specific approach that has its pros and cons. Obviously, installing a reliable access control system in a polar environment or in the middle of an endless forest is quite uncommon!

Our mission is to find the right balance — solutions that ensure the appropriate level of shared protection while preserving the differences that make us strong.

Once again, we witnessed the kindness and openness of our Nordic hosts, and we are confident in their active participation in shaping the European sovereingty we need.

The final word of thanks goes to the AR Media team, who supported us throughout the preparation of this event, during our presentation at the Open Forum, and will continue to help us spread our vision of security!
