2026 Panorama of Security and Safety Standards by ACN

by SPAC Alliance | August 2026 | Library, Norms and Standards

The 2026 Panorama of Security and Safety Standards, published by the NORSEC Commission of the Security Industries Strategic Committee (CSF Industries de Sécurité) and coordinated by the Alliance pour la Confiance Numérique (ACN, a SPAC Alliance member), provides a structured overview of an increasingly complex standardisation landscape.

This document, to which we contributed, notably highlights our SSCP protocol, identified as an industrial standard. More broadly, it provides a clearer understanding of the standards and tools available to support the implementation of the European regulatory framework, including NIS 2, CER, DORA and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

From standardisation to technological sovereignty

The report first examines standardisation as a strategic driver of innovation, competitiveness and sustainability. It also shows how standards reflect economic and political interests and have become a key arena for geopolitical competition.

This dimension is illustrated through a focus on China's standardisation strategy, highlighting how the ability to shape standards can support technological influence and broader strategic ambitions.

What you will find in this panorama

  • An overview of the main international, European and national standardisation committees, their respective roles and cooperation mechanisms.
  • A panorama of the key information security and cybersecurity standards at international and European levels.
  • A focus on the work carried out by ISO, IEC, CEN-CENELEC and ETSI, as well as on the standards expected to support the implementation of major European regulatory frameworks.

The full report is available in French, although some of its summary tables are also provided in English.

We invite you to download this document as a valuable resource throughout your security journey, and to discover how the SSCP protocol, developed by SPAC Alliance, supports this drive towards greater security and technological sovereignty.
