2026 General Assembly: tangible results

by SPAC Alliance | September 2026 | Members News, News

Held at Omnitech Security’s premises in Bordeaux, our 2026 General Assembly gave us the opportunity to review the year’s work and set out the next steps in our 2030 strategic plan.

Here are the highlights from a day of discussion and networking.

A vision confirmed by market developments

After a welcome from our host, Alexandre Vigier, Vincent Dupart, President of SPAC Alliance, opened the General Assembly by pointing out that physical security and cybersecurity are now closely linked, and that transparency requirements around security levels for both manufacturers and products are becoming clearer.

SPAC Alliance anticipated these developments, which now guide our priorities:

  • grow the ecosystem of solution providers and end users;
  • strengthen our autonomy;
  • continue developing the SSCP protocol;
  • reinforce SPAC Alliance’s role as an expert voice with French and European institutions.

Greater visibility among end users

The new version of our website and our content strategy are delivering results:

  • website traffic has increased sixfold;
  • subscriber numbers have tripled;
  • views of our NIS 2 guide have increased sevenfold.

We are also strengthening our connection with end users through the events we choose to attend, both in person and online, and through our contributions to the press.

HESTIA: on the way to EN 40000-10

The HESTIA project has contributed to the development of harmonised standard EN 40000-10, covering identification and access control technologies under the Cyber Resilience Act.

The project directly involved industry stakeholders in European standards work, helping them better understand the issues, contribute to discussions and anticipate the compliance work they will need to undertake. Discussions with ANSSI, AFNOR, ANFR, CEN and the European Commission are ongoing.

Our contribution has helped shape a common, demanding framework aligned with our approach to security.

SSCP protocol: development and standardisation

The SSCP ecosystem now includes 24 certified products and 33 stakeholders.

We continued developing the protocol, with work focusing on priority command sets, the test plan and SSCP certification schemes.

Future work will address the protocol’s standardisation, the principles guiding its development and the expansion of its use cases, including biometrics. Several dedicated working groups have been launched.

Our ambition remains unchanged: to establish SSCP as a sovereign, high-security solution that is functional and interoperable.

CSR: a circular economy pilot project

The 2026 General Assembly highlighted a practical CSR initiative: a circular economy pilot project between STid and Alcéa. The project aims to close the loop on readers’ lifecycle: collecting them from customers, transporting and dismantling them, then recovering materials to manufacture new products incorporating recycled plastic.

The specifications are being developed, and the business model remains to be validated. Beyond this pilot, the initiative opens up opportunities for the wider sector to work together on eco-design and product end-of-life.

Changes to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors

Two changes to the Alliance’s governance were announced:

  • Pierre-Yves Dudal (Elsylog) replaces Florent Daniel as Vice-President and joins the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
  • Savéria Zattara (CLR Cert) replaces Christian Croll on the Board of Directors.

2027: The Year of Compliance

In 2027, we will strengthen our support for end users implementing NIS 2 and CER requirements across Europe. Our guides, services and tools will provide practical guidance to help them turn regulatory requirements into action.

We will also support the industry in addressing the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and continue contributing to standardisation work.

Finally, we would like to thank our members for their commitment, and Omnitech Security for hosting us in Bordeaux, especially Alexandre Vigier, Marion Bonnet and Sylvain Bosquet.
