Can you describe your activity?

Founded in 1976, Opticon was one of the first companies in the world to specialize in the manufacture of barcode scanners.

Opticon Sensors Europe BV, based in the Netherlands, is the company’s European headquarters.

Thousands of businesses have identified Opticon as a trusted partner. We produce reliable identification devices, but our true added value lies in our ability to see and listen to our clients’ needs in order to provide them with the right solution for their field operations.

What are your challenges in terms of security?

The pursuit of new solutions, combined with a flexible and transparent approach, defines us as a company. From our early days, when we made a significant impact with our automatic identification equipment, to today, where we provide innovative electronic shelf labeling and digital display solutions, we have consistently demonstrated that professionalism and dedication are valued in a highly competitive market.

We are committed to developing and strengthening trusted partnerships with key players across various European sectors, including Healthcare, Transportation, and Access Control.

Why join SPAC Alliance and its ecosystem?

Joining the SPAC Alliance will enable Opticon to develop partnerships, strengthen ties with SPAC Alliance members, and share its expertise to collaborate on key issues related to the evolution of European regulations and market standardization.

The objective is to promote a unifying message in support of European sovereignty in the field of cybersecurity.

What benefits can the SSCP protocol bring to the European security market? And to you?

Strengthening protocols such as SSCP and establishing them as European standards helps combat unfair competition from China (or elsewhere).

It also helps prevent malicious intrusions by non-European manufacturers who do not comply with international agreements.

The importance of certification and the use of Standards in the European security market?

Certifications allow us to secure our markets and protect consumer data at both national and European levels.

Opticon continues to deliver new solutions by combining the latest technologies with a strong focus on providing high-quality products.

Opticon manufactures its products in ISO 9001-certified facilities and complies with international standards for quality, safety, and environmental protection.
