Gabriel BLANCHARD
Director of Technology Transfer

1. Could you introduce your business, key figures, and growth areas?

Esynov, created within the Grenoble INP – Esisar engineering school in Valence, carries out technology transfer activities for companies in the fields of EMC, radio frequency, embedded systems, and cybersecurity.

As products continue to expand their functionalities, more and more of them now rely on connected interfaces. This is especially true of many standard industrial products, which are becoming increasingly connected. This shift increases exposure to cyberattacks. At the same time, cost constraints during the design and manufacturing phases can lead manufacturers to adopt weak, or even non-existent, security mechanisms.

Esynov supports companies through expert services and training to help them address cyber threats:

  • Integrating and managing cybersecurity challenges in the context of connected products: awareness, training, and support
  • Assessing the security of a connected product or system: identifying risks, defining the appropriate level of security, testing, and recommending countermeasures

Key figures:

  • 380 m² of dedicated laboratory space
  • 10 multidisciplinary experts: engineers, technicians, and business managers
  • More than 500 consulting days delivered each year

2. What are your main security challenges?

Cybersecurity is a complex and constantly evolving challenge for manufacturers of connected products. They must invest in secure-by-design approaches, vulnerability management, data protection, regulatory compliance, and user awareness in order to ensure product security and protect user privacy.

In this context, Esynov puts its expertise and resources at the service of companies, supporting them at every stage of their skills development, human development, and product development processes by offering:

  • Ongoing team training, both inter-company and in-house
  • Specialized audits and expert assessments in its recognized areas of expertise: EMC, RFID, and cybersecurity
  • Study projects related to upstream research

This expertise is backed by substantial technical resources, including an anechoic chamber, IT and networking facilities, cybersecurity demonstrators, and hardware security equipment, enabling Esynov to provide high-level technical support.

3. Why did you decide to join SPAC Alliance and its ecosystem?

  • To initiate collaborations with Alliance members and promote solutions with the highest levels of security
  • To contribute to the development of security standards for the European market
  • To share our expertise with other members

4. What benefits can the SSCP protocol bring to the security market? And to your organization?

The SSCP protocol provides the market with a highly practical building block for securing communications between readers, controllers, and supervision systems, with a high level of security.

5. How important are certifications and standardization in the security market?

Certifications and standardization help build customer trust, reduce risks, and encourage innovation. They are essential for establishing strong security foundations and for meeting growing security needs in an increasingly digital world.
