“SPAC Alliance seems to us to be the most relevant solution for making our voices heard in support of a French and European sovereignty that is now clearly under pressure.”

Alexandre SCHOTT
President Ollagnier SCA

1. Please introduce your business and development priorities

Ollagnier SCA is a French designer and manufacturer of physical access control systems and barriers for pedestrians, PRM users, vehicles and equipment.

With more than 70 years of technical expertise, we are able to work confidently on a wide range of projects, from simple operations to larger and more complex security deployments.

Several hundred pieces of equipment are currently in operation in the defence, aeronautics, energy and services sectors, and more particularly within operators of vital importance established in France.

2. What are your main security challenges?

Ollagnier SCA recently co-patented a structural reinforcement solution capable of achieving levels of burglary resistance that had previously not existed for one specific type of product. The objective is to adapt and make this innovative solution compatible with a wide range of other products, thereby providing end users with concrete answers to their needs.

Another challenge is to develop partnerships between manufacturers and decision-makers / specifiers in order to identify the underlying sources and root causes that will help define precisely which type of product should be implemented.

3. Why join SPAC Alliance and its ecosystem?

Ollagnier SCA aims to strengthen its presence in France and across Europe through partnerships, associations and collaborative initiatives, as well as through the implementation of joint actions such as those already promoted by SPAC Alliance.

Through its current presence and influence, SPAC Alliance seems to us to be the appropriate and most relevant solution for making our voices heard in support of French and European sovereignty, which is now clearly under pressure.

4. What benefits can the SSCP protocol bring to the security market? And for you specifically?

The SSCP protocol helps secure the market by raising the overall level of expertise. It strengthens security across the communication chain, the supply chain and inter-company trust, while also making a significant contribution to regulatory compliance.

At Ollagnier SCA, we are not directly subject to or constrained by the protocol, since the equipment we market (physical barriers) integrates with or is compatible with all types of devices such as readers and management systems. However, as their use continues to evolve, it is important for us to remain informed and involved in real time.

5. In your view, how important are certification and standardization in the security market?

The nature of exchanges between organisations, companies and countries is continuously increasing the level of fragility and the risks associated with the systems currently in place, whether in relation to fraud, cyberattacks, malicious acts or other threats.

In this context, the need to demonstrate, for a wide range of products, the expected level of quality and/or resistance relies on certifications that are not only harmonised across countries, but also required in order to ensure appropriate protection for the sites, assets and systems concerned.
