“SPAC Alliance literally looks in the same direction as GSTAG: Europe, key players, physical and logical access, security, standards, (…)
In fact, joining the Alliance was an evidence for us.”
Eric Jouve
CEO GSTAG
Can you introduce your business?
Manufacturer of smart cards and connected objects, GSTAG specializes in the design and customization of secure contactless products for small and medium-sized projects (up to 200k units per batch).
Thanks to its agility, innovation-driven approach, and global distribution service, the company has built a solid reputation over the past 25 years in several key sectors such as secure access, identification, private payment, and NFC/RFID.
What are your challenges in your field of expertise?
With the global proliferation of devices operating in both professional and private environments, locally and in the cloud, companies are increasingly exposed to security challenges/threats. This is a fact, and this situation has clearly led professionals to consider new approaches like “Zero Trust,” for example.
As a card manufacturer, our main challenge (and duty) is to offer the most appropriate, scalable, and durable identification solutions that will enable organizations to seamlessly link their physical and logical access strategies. However, our market and technologies are evolving rapidly, actually pushing us to consider “tomorrow” as the “new today”… So let’s think together about the “next Tomorrow.”
Why join SPAC Alliance?
SPAC Alliance literally looks in the same direction as GSTAG: Europe, key players, physical and logical access, security, standards, … In fact, joining the Alliance was an obvious choice for us.
Some of our colleagues might ask: why so late? Well, first of all, joining this group of professionals and specialists is intimidating. Although we were very tempted to join from the start, we wanted to first consolidate our expertise in identity management. Now that we have a broader view of the realities and trends in the market, we are truly happy and proud to be part of SPAC Alliance. We are excited to now exchange our visions and expertise with the other members.
Why promote a protocol such as SSCP®? (As a European standard) and what is the importance of certifications (and/or standardization) in the security market?
From the user’s perspective, any solution on the market must be both cutting-edge yet simple to use, fully open yet secure/safe, highly reliable yet cost-effective, customizable yet immediately available in stock. In our opinion, solving these paradoxes within the framework of economies of scale cannot be achieved without standardization, certifications, and harmonized process flows. It is therefore crucial to bridge the different gaps within our ecosystems, and the adoption of SSCP® is one of the key steps towards streamlining, especially with the guarantee of secure end-to-end communication
