New Security 2025 highlights

SPAC Alliance participated in the New Security 2025 exhibition, (February 26 and 27) near Leuven. Invited to the booth of our member IDTech, Sandrina Castillo and Tibaud Estienne had the opportunity to engage in extensive discussions with the Belgian security ecosystem about the European regulatory framework (including NIS 2 and CRA) as well as standards and norms, including SSCP, our communication protocol.

SPAC Alliance Everywhere!

SPAC Alliance was very well represented during this 2025 New Security edition with 8 booths (ALCEA, SIMONSVOSS, ARITECH, COMMEND, GENETEC, DOM SALTO, and IDTech) and visits from several others (BE Protection, Deister Electronics, and STid). This was an opportunity to take stock of the latest regulatory developments, answer numerous questions and to gain insight into the future of european security.

SSCP: The Reference Protocol

This IDTech booth was truly a reward for us: a member integrating readers from three others (STid, Deister Electronics, and XPR), showcasing our SSCP protocol. Exhibitions are an opportunity to engage with the field.

The usefulness, popularity, and need for a sovereign protocol are no longer a goal pursued by a few manufacturers, but a clear expectation from end-users. We have rarely encountered such technically relevant questions regarding issues like data protection and components authentication.

SSCP is no longer the rising protocol, it is the one that is asserting itself.

Security in 15 Minutes… and Much More!

Three presentations per day were offered to address our missions, new threats, NIS 2 and the Cyber Resilience Act, the SSCP ecosystem, and biometrics. The sessions were intended to last 15 minutes (and they almost did!) and always led to highly engaging discussions with state-owned companies, manufacturers, integrators, and end users.

New Memberships to Come

Our synthesis work is bearing fruit! Two leading players have been convinced by our approach, our arguments, and our protocol. They have found tailored and actionable solutions that can quickly address high-security issues or end user expectations. They will join us in the very near future, bringing us closer to 70 members.
Finally, several other manufacturers and integrators have requested a presentation in the coming weeks due to unavailability during the exhibition.

Humans, the Key Success Factor

Humans are central, in security as in any other field. The IDTech team, led by Christophe Boulanger, gave us a warm and professional welcome, just like the other participants who did not hesitate to reach out to us or attend presentations with their partners and prospects.

Member involvement is the key to our success.

The Review

New Security is an unmissable exhibition. With its human-scale setting, it stands out for the quality of its exhibitors as well as its audience. Leuven, with its architecture and the dynamism of its student population, is ideal for recharging one’s batteries.

A special thank you to Philippe Niederhauser (TBS) who took the time to update us on biometrics, particularly regarding the storage of templates, a strategic topic that was widely discussed at all the booths!

And a final thank you to our members for their support and, once again, to IDTech and Christophe Boulanger for their full investment in our initiative!
